The white instrument is what was used to do the skin biopsy and the blue instrument is the one to perform the bone marrow.  There is a small opening at both ends of the blue instrument, and as you will see later, a syringe is attached to the blue end and bone marrow is suctioned from her hip.

Dr. Frangoul (Transplant Doctor) is performing the skin biopsy.

You may be able to see the small piece of skin that has been removed, it appears to still be attached to her hip in the picture, but it is not.  The skin biopsy is part of the Day 100 tests and will be tested to make sure she does not have any GVHD on her skin.  Remember GVHD is most likely to attack the gut and skin area and we have been fortunate that Barrett has not had any skin GVHD that we know of.

The bone marrow procedure has started.  The blue instrument is twisted into her hip almost resembling the same action it takes to remove a cork from a wine bottle.

Bone Marrow is being removed from her hip.

A closer view of the bone marrow being removed from Barrett.

The spinal tap procedure is taking place.  You can see in the picture blood coming from the instrument.  They had to re-insert this instrument until they got clear fluid.  In this picture a blood vessel was probably hit while entering her spinal area.  The second time, they received clear liquid.

Dr. Frangoul is holding is clear tube collecting the spinal fluid.  The spinal fluid drips out of the instrument that is shown.

Chemo is being pushed into her spinal fluid.  This is the last chemo that she will receive.

All of Barrett's fluids are being placed in dishes to be sent to the lab for testing.

Bone marrow being placed in a dish. The bone marrow has very fine particles to it.

One of Barrett's central lines has been removed.  The Doctor had to sew one stitch and then that procedure was finished.
